The Spanish Ministry of Education commissioned the production of learning interactive web applications for schools all over the country to the company OpenYourWeb. They created the basic framework and the graphic design and I did the coding of the simulators in my company.
It is a series of applications about Chemistry and Physics with simulators that help student understand the concepts. The content was supervised by teachers.
Coded with Adobe Flash®.
Different sections & my work in this project
- This is an example of welcome screen
- An example of the introduction
- An example of the lab where the simulations take place to help students understand. In this case, how a balance works.
- An example of the evaluation
Examples of more simulators
- Simulation of how different materials (chosen by students from a few possibilities) behave when heated
- Moving the microscope you can see the internal structure of the different elements
- This lab simulates the behavior of different liquids in different conditions set by the students
- Lab simulating angular velocity
- Simulation to learn the speed of sound
- Ohm’s law simulation testing different numeric values set by users
- Simulator to test the pressure over an object inside a liquid
- The interaction of forces components in a pendulum according to two parameters set by the students: mass and length of the rope
- This lab together with the next screenshot creates a graph of how two forces interact in different ways
- The components of the forces interaction set in the previous screenshot are displayed on a graph based on the values introduced by the users
- An example of the lab where the simulations take place to help students understand. In this case, how a balance works.
See a couple of examples in action
Although they are quite old (2007) you still can have a look at a few of them.
